While many people I know, myself included, are doing the ketogenic diet. Others are just trying to find a way to increase their protein or decrease their carbohydrates overall. Most people, are trapped in a cycle of being too busy and having excuses on why they can’t focus on counting their macros or keeping track of their consumption.
Please, let me share with you, 3 super easy low carb drinks to stay on track! Each of these drinks will take you less than five minutes to make, with the quickest being about 45 seconds!
When it comes to super easy low carb drinks, I need taste to still be amazing and process to be quick. I’m sure you wish for the same. This is why I love Optimum Nutrition® products. All three of these super easy low carb drinks will be made with the tasty protein filled products you can easy find at your local Walmart stores.
All but two of these products (far left), are not only low carb but can be used in a ketogenic diet. The others are perfect for those needing protein refuels that may not be following low carb but need protein revival in their system after a workout!
Who doesn’t love chocolate and vanilla? The ON® Whey Protein Isolate is for the adult seeking high quality protein. It is easy to mix but has most of the fat, carbohydrates and sugars “isolated” out, leaving you with 25 grams of protein. Completely free of artificial colors, flavors, and sweeteners and only 130 calories. Gluten free and the formula is also banned substance tested, giving you peace of mind in every sip you take.
Let me share my three easy low carb drinks from most time consuming (a whopping 4-5 minutes) to the quickest!
Perfect for breakfast, before working out, and after. This Chocolate Smoothie tastes as great as a milkshake! The recipe below, makes enough for TWO! If you drink it all yourself, that is only 10g carbs and lots of tastiness!
What you need: Blender, large cup, ON® Whey Protein Isolate in chocolate, 8oz of low carb dairy beverage (We used Reduced Fat Hood Calorie Countdown, with only 3g carb), 1 tbsp sugar free chocolate syrup, 1 cup of ice, 1 pinch of chia seeds. Strawberry optional.
In blender mix 1 scoop of the Chocolate ON® Whey Protein Isolate with the dairy beverage, sugar free chocolate syrup, and ice. Blend until smooth. Top with chia seeds. Enjoy!
The next two recipes are even easier! Using the ON® Performance Energy, which comes in grape and watermelon, we create a jump start that is perfect for your mornings.
The Optimum Nutrition® Performance Energy is providing as much caffeine from natural sources as a cup of coffee. It has 3 grams of muscle supporting amino acids. Easy to make on the go as you take your fruit-flavored powder mix and add cold water. Use it in the morning in place of your coffee or as an afternoon pick-me-up.
The quickest recipe is just as the container states: Mix and go! If you have no time, this one is for you! One scoop goes a long way and the flavor is bursting, your tastebuds are going to love it! I’m not even a fan of most things “grape” but this mix is really good! If you feel the flavor is overwhelming, add a little more water. You still get all the benefits as long as you empty your cup!
Hot day? Want to kick up your energy while feeling even more refreshed? How about we turn that ON® Performance Energy in to an ice slushie? I take the watermelon for this as it reminds me of my childhood Polar Cup (was like an ice cream truck but way better and with ice slushies!)
What you need: Blender, 1 cup ice, 1 scoop ON® Performance Energy Watermelon, 1 cup cold water. Watermelon slice optional.
Blend all in the blender until smooth ice consistency. Flavor is STILL bursting even with the ice diluting the beverage. Take on the run or enjoy the sun outside after a workout.
All of these super easy low carb drinks are just 1-10g of carbs each, with the chocolate smoothie being the highest and each of the others being only 1g! Perfect for low carb dieting and even fits perfectly in to a ketogenic diet. (Remember, the chocolate smoothie creates enough for two servings!)
Now, if you are like my husband needing more carbohydrates due to lifestyle, fitness level, and labor job, maybe you don’t need to cut carbs. Optimum Nutrition® still has products for you! A favorite for a treat is the ON® Protein Cake Bites.
With four flavors available; Birthday Cake, Red Velvet, Chocolate Dipped Cherry, and Chocolate Frosted Donut, there is something for every sweets fan. When cutting out the overly sugared treats, this is a great option. The Cake Bites are delicious protein snacks that are coated with yogurt or chocolate flavored frosting. With 20 grams of protein in each package (3 cakes per package) they are a super convenient on the go option for active adults.

Those sound great! When you’re trying to eat a healthy diet, the key is variety and taste. These fit the bill on both, and the give a nice big kick of protein.
These sound like some really great drinks for people who are trying to eat and drink low card. They sound like they would give you a nice boost of energy as well.
I love the diversity in staying healthy with one’s everyday lifestyle; especially the snacks
I WISH I COULD EAT THOSE CAKE BITES!!!!!!!
These look like great drink options! Not only for weight loss but these are quick meal ideas, I am so busy with my kids and their activities this summer that just making a quick drink for me would simplify my day a little more. I will have to check these out!
I’m on Keto – so all of these look perfect for our meal plan. I really need to look into some of them. Right now I’m primarily only drinking water and need to change it up
I split the chocolate smoothie with my husband so sure half the protein but also half the carbs. The energy products are AMAZING for that pick me up before or after the gym and like I mentioned, even the grape is great!!! Trying to find things other than water that fit in to my daily intake can be a real struggle. Can even nix some carbs by not adding the sugar free chocolate syrup, or only using half, it just helps give extra chocolate flavor!
All of these sound great. I’ve been on the lookout for protein that I could actually enjoy. I’ll have to check this one out. My husband drinks protein shakes every now and then too.
These all look pretty good! My son is totally into whey protein so I am going to let him know about this! Low carb is always a good thing but even more so when trying to lose weight!
I love Low Carb foods/drinks! I’ve never seen this brand before, sounds like a great product for those who want to increase their protein intake.
Sounds delicious! I’ll have to try this since my husband has a big tub of whey protein.
Such a delicious drink options for staying healthy. The cake bites look delicious too.
Optimum Nutrition is one of my favorite proteins. Their flavors are all so delicious!
