When the alarm goes off and I hit snooze, normally it’s my countdown to how much time I have left to get the kid up, feed the dogs, and get to the gym in time to utilize the Crunch Fitness Kids Club. When my son says he wants to go the gym each day, how can you deny him that enjoyment of making new friends? My club, Crunch Fitness in Carrollwood, FL makes my son feel welcome and keeps me motivated to keep coming back. I personally, wanted a No Judgements Gym.
While the amazing price could be the main motivator for selecting Crunch Fitness as my gym, it surely was not the only one. The fact that I could upgrade my membership to bring a friend, bring my child to the Kids Club, (only available at certain locations), use the HydroMassage® or Tanning, were all just perks to keep me motivated. Even with all those benefits, I still pay less than $1.60 a day! For those who don’t need those perks, your cost can be less than .40 a day!
No Judgements: No matter your gender, age, race, shape, or fitness level, Crunch Fitness has something for everyone. From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted with a smile and encouraged to have a great workout! You will find an amazing group of people.
I for one, have learned new techniques or tried new machines just by watching others. Many of my friends have always shied away from the gym atmosphere due to feeling judged. The fact that many of them have told me after a workout session with me, they had fun and felt comfortable, made it clear that my gym really is a no judgements zone!
Childcare: Personally as a Mom, the first excuse I would give myself is “no time”. I could not afford to pay for outside childcare just to get my workout in. The fact that Crunch Fitness has a great staff in the Kids Club, who adore my son, and look forward to seeing him, makes me feel great. During the weekdays, they are open for two sessions with four-hour spans. I can pick any two hour span I want to fit my schedule. I may be a Mom, but I also need some “me” time. I love being able to get a workout in and not worry about my child.
Classes/Training: It doesn’t matter if you are a beginning or advanced. Whether you have coordination or not, there is a class or trainer to match your personality and schedule especially when they have 50+ group fitness classes per week!. If one on one training is what you need, there is a great staff of personal trainers ready to help you jump over any plateau you may be suffering. Want to make goals and need someone to keep you accountable? They have you covered.
If you are more for group training and want to bring a friend along or make new friends, the class selection is great. While Pound® is a favorite of mine, using Ripstix™- weighted drumsticks to do interval training, I decided to watch others before jumping in.
Zumba® is one of the busiest classes, and I can see why. The music pulsates through your body, smiles adorn every face, and there is an outstanding array of diversity within the classes. You don’t have to be as coordinated as you think, to feel the music, and have fun burning calories.
I’m not going to lie. When the music started in the Chisel class, and I saw the assortment of free weights, I was nervous. I personally feel I do not know how to use free weights in more than a few motions. I aspire to join this class once I get my arm strength up. The definition in the arms of the instructor were inspiring. I know she didn’t get there overnight, but I trust her to help me improve! The class is based on using weights and calisthenics to sculpt and shape those muscles hiding from us.
Community: I can look around and see a friend from Facebook. I spotted a lady I went to group sessions with after my Mother passed away, I see the local high school athletes, and a few Moms from the community.
Crunch Fitness is a community. It’s your friend, your neighbor, your co-workers, it’s family. These are the people that make up your community. Get to know them. Make new friends. Bring new friends, to show what a true community is. Everyone is there for one reason or another. Strength? Health? Motivation? Inspiration? No matter the reason, they found comfort in this no judgements gym, just as I have.
I was not surprised in the least when Hurricane Irma whipped our area up into a frenzy and took out electric and internet for many. My Crunch Fitness opened up their doors to let people shower, grilled up food at no cost to those who may have lost their food with the electricity going out, and offered their internet.
The last thing I could think about in the aftermath was working out, but the ability to use the internet to not be late on work deadlines, was huge for me. They showed me the definition of community. Membership or not they welcomed neighbors at that time.
Motivation & Inspiration: It doesn’t matter what got you out of bed and to the gym in the morning. It doesn’t matter what reason you pit stop there, before going home after work. The fact is, you found motivation in wanting to better yourself and are being an inspiration to others around you.
If you are jumping in to a class or hopping on a cardio machine, you found that motivation and you are that inspiration. I may not be the clothing size I want to be yet, or the weight I want to see on the scale, but I’m working on it. You can’t begrudge anyone for finding an outlet in fitness and moving in the direction to better themselves.
I love spotting the smiles from those exiting a fitness class, while I race to hit 20 miles on the recumbent bike. I love seeing someone push for another set, fighting the urge to call it quits. Building confidence and strength one workout at a time. If I am watching you, it’s because you inspire me. I’ve learned more techniques and workout moves by watching my community, than reading or watching online.
If those aren’t enough reasons to love my club, how about we go back to price? Super affordable and costs less than going out to eat. Cleanliness. I can never find anything on the floor and the place is cleaner than my house! The Sauna in the locker room. Escape for a few minutes and regroup after a great workout. The equipment. Always well taken care of. The staff. Always a smile on their face and ready and willing to answer questions, show you how a machine works, or introduce you to instructors and trainers.
If you don’t want to take my word for it, find a Crunch Fitness location near you and get a 1 day free trial to check them out or if you are in the Tampa, Sarasota or Atlanta area, stop by or sign up for a membership online for only $9.95 per month and a $1 Enrollment Fee using the code: ONE by 4/30/18
