About Me

I guess this is more or less the story of “us”. I am Nichole, your resident blogger here. Born and raised in Florida. Married to a wonderful man named Cody. We welcomed our first child, a son, in November 2013. (Davin’s Birth Story Here) There are three attention hungry pups that live with us too.

I have done some fun things in life but nothing excites me more than becoming a mother! I have traveled, competed in figure skating, started college twice and dropped out both times (the 2nd time was due to a leg injury!!) , ran away to another state to “find myself” and thankfully returned…otherwise I might not have met my husband. I have gained and lost friends along the way. They always say “you have a friends for a reason and friends for a season”. It is so very true.

I met my husband in February 2011 online. By April we were engaged and planning a wedding for February 2012. In that time, after the engagement I worked in a bridal salon and then after a car accident on the clock (bank run), ended up in physical therapy well into 2012 after our wedding. With not much function in my left arm we decided I would work from home which I had done on and off again before. I am an eBay junkie and have been a member for over a decade! I figured when I became a mom I would be a stay at home mom. I had been a nanny on and off for well over a decade as well and knew my passion for raising children was a big one.

Christmas 2011 with Hannah and Gizmo

I came into the relationship as a package deal to my husband with my Yorkie Hannah. After the car accident with depression setting in and him out of town for work a lot we figured Hannah needed a buddy so we got our Chorkie Gizmo. I also had a concussion for over a month! This left me with not much to do but stay at home, go to physical therapy (not allowed to drive myself), and coupon. After our wedding having another bout of depression about not becoming pregnant and thinking there was something wrong with me, we brought Lucy home. She is our black Labrador, the biggest of the bunch but the biggest baby! To get out of my funk we enjoyed our furbaby family we did have, I worked out a lot, and fought with our prior landlords about the mold issues causing me health issues. Thankfully we were almost out of our lease when we found out we were pregnant!

One day after our one year anniversary we found out we were expecting our first child! I am thrilled to be able to have the love and support of my family and friends as I start this blog/website which I hope to incorporate into a few other things I am getting my hands into. I have been a long time entrepreneur and always wanting to enjoy doing things I love without someone else being my boss! I will continue with my eBay endeavors but also hope to bring something special to other mothers, fathers, and parents to be through this website.

MY MISSION STATEMENT: Broken down into a simple form that any first time, second time, or 10th time parent can comprehend is that raising your child with the love and nurture a mother can provide will always outweigh any house you put over their head, school you send them to, or items you can buy them. Love and lessons on life are the best gift a parent can give. You as a mother have the right to make the choices you see fit for your child. Not everyone will agree and people will always try to bring you down. There are so many options and new things available as technology changes and things from the past become modernized. Use the mommy network to learn, ask questions, and grow as not only the mommy you want to be but the mommy you are that makes you so special and lend a helping hand or voice to others moms! You nurtured that baby within the womb for 9 months, now nurture them for the rest of their lives to give them the lessons and right to choose by bringing them up the best way you know how!

When I seek out sponsors, I look for someone who is a rising star! Companies who are started by Moms and families. I won’t turn away a large company as I know my readers need to learn about those products and I love featuring anything Mom or Baby related. However, when I go on the hunt for the perfect sponsors to feature and highlight, I want those hard working people I can talk to without jumping through hoops. I want to make long term friendships with the owners and creators of amazing products for our next generations. I want to applaud the people who got creative and saw a need, then fulfilled it.

XOXO

  Nichole
