The best give you can give a child is the gift of reading. I may be biased when it comes to wanting children to learn to read. I personally love reading. I was reading at a college level by my entry to Middle School.
Sure, children want toys but books can take them to places they could only imagine in their dreams. Here are some of my absolute favorite titles this holiday season.
From Family Stories. A personalized book takes your child inside a story as themselves, is an epic way to get them excited to read and share the story by reading out loud to you. Not only do you create your child in stories from Family Stories but you also get to set up Mommy and Daddy! A book that will be cherished for years to come. Includes a free personalized mention inside the front page as well.
Small Walt and his driver, Gus, take on a blizzard! All the bigger snowplows doubt that Walt has what it takes to plow the roads in the storm, but Walt is determined to prove them wrong. A darling picture book that is tons of fun to read out loud!
Bonus Dad! Bonus Mom! I am not a step parent but know many children who are. This book is a great way to not only encourage reading but show that families come in all ways and step parents are really cool bonus parents! BONUS Dad! BONUS Mom! shows that the role of a Bonus parent is not evil or wicked. The Bonus parent does not replace either parent.
Laurie Berkner’s treasured song “Pillowland” is now a beautiful picture book! Featuring magical, lush art by Camille Garoche, Pillowland carries readers away to a feather-fluffed dream world where bedtime is always a grand adventure. With soft song rhyme it is an easy read and easily memorized to help with remembering words by sight! A great book to teach reading with rhyme.
For the child that worries Santa can’t get in without a chimney, this adorable book and special key has given Santa the ability to ease a child’s mind with No Chimney? No Problem! Unlock the magic with this great read that will give peace of mind to the children. Knowing Santa can get in to visit on Christmas Eve, gets them to bed earlier too…at least I hope so!
Jump in to this fun book and join Disney’s Olaf’s Frozen Adventure: A Holiday Surprise with this stunning shaped book that brings to life your favorite Frozen character in a fun adventure that will keep the kids smiling.
We all recall the most famous reindeer of all. But how much do you know about the story of the Reindeer Games and the other eight reindeer? Rudolph is easy to know, s he is quite famous. Then what about the T.E.A.M? With this fun and colorful book, T.E.A.M. Rudolph and the Reindeer Games, you can teach a great lesson about team work, while enjoying a great read with the kids!
Teaching kindness will NEVER go out of style! So your kids are against the creepy elf? That’s cool! Even if the elf is a staple in your home, what about teaching the elf about The Gnome in Your Home. Can they be friends? Your gnome will teach kindness not only around the holidays but year round! A great book for the whole family. I truly love the acts of kindness ideas list in the back of the book!
If your kids are as excited about reading as my son, GiftLit is the absolute must subscribe monthly service! With subscriptions for both children and adults, the gift of new reading material monthly will bring fun to the mailbox! A favorite of ours right now is The Cuddle Collection. Where each book comes with a plush of some sort that goes with the story. Ours were finger puppets this month!
You can even log in and switch around which books come for your child(ren). Order once, set up reoccurring shipments, or shop their one for one, where each book bought one goes to a child in need! Lift others up with the love of reading! Starting as early as page turning babies and all the way through adults, there is something for everyone, making it the perfect gift!
