My husband laughs and calls my little girl a tomboy all the time because she loves to be outside all the time- getting dirty, riding her bike, hanging from the tree, under cars with him, and being loud and crazy. He calls her his “Little Tomboy” but she takes exception to that and puts her hands on her hips, scrunches up her eyes and says “ Daddy, I am not a tomboy! I am a Tom GIRL!” She is highly offended that daddy would suggest such a thing.
She is fully what you would call a tomboy but so much more- she loves her American Girl dolls too, and pretty dresses, oh and girl does she loves shoes, she can be covered in dirt from head to foot and still beg for a tea party, and she loves to make her hair beautiful. Her wild unruly hair that makes her look like a long lost relative of Albert Einstein in the morning. Girls can be both can’t they?
But much like her wild spirit, her hair must often be tamed. Before we leave the house there is a simple checklist- combed-check! out of her eyes? eh- not so much… But then I got these Logo Loops to try and I love these things! First and most important it is a comfy cotton/lycra spandex that she doesn’t mind wearing. This girl will not stand for anything that pulls her hair or digs into her scalp- have you got one like that? Rubber bands and other ties make it oh.. maybe 15 minutes in her hair before they are ripped out and cast aside.
The other thing I love about the logo loops is that they are unique just like my “tomgirl”, from her initial to seasonal to sports and cute sayings. You can even create a custom order for your little girl or to gift to someone else. I think they would be awesome to gift to your girl scout troop or even all your nieces- with their initials. Let your daughter shine and do what she loves without needing to scream, “I am NOT a Tomboy!” She is still your little girl no matter what the activity of choice.
So when we got our logo loops we gave them a workout by putting one on in the morning- It lasted through
- reading time
- bike riding
- tree hanging
- kickball games
So needless to say I will be ordering more to keep my tomgirls hair contained. Toss then in your ballet or soccer bag,and leave one in the car. It is a great, quick way to tidy up the hair and make a fashion statement at the same time.
