We raced right home to give you our Paw Patrol Live review fresh after we saw the Tampa 10AM showing at The Straz! As someone who is accustomed to how the broadway theatre shows are run, I was not sure what to expect other than I knew how the basis of the performing of the pups would be done.
When you first walk in to the venue, you will see some merchandise booths with tons of options (shirts, stuffed animals, balls, light up toys, building toys, and more!) You can also take some fun green screen photos for an additional cost. At The Straz, the concession stands were not open for food but they did have a drink station to purchase. This may vary by venue. Be sure to grab a booster seat for the young kids, it helps to see better if a tall adult sits in front of them!
We were visiting with VIP packages (more info below) which I have to say was an amazing experience for my almost four year old son! I always get nervous how he will react to characters for photos but he had a blast, but let me rewind to the actual show before I explain the VIP experience!
As we entered the theatre, all children were given a pom pom. The Straz does not normally allow photography but at this particular show it was noted that you can. (May vary by venue). The show starts out with none other than Ryder, explaining what is going on in Adventure Bay today.
An introduction of the gang leads off with fun and song. You also get to see what mini crisis the Mayor of Adventure Bay is in today (Let’s be honest, she gets herself in quite a pickle every episode of the cartoon lol) I probably had a little too much fun myself, when “Pup Pup Boogie” would play, and they played it enough to keep me dancing in my seat.
The show goes in to an intermission about 35 minutes in after we find out the super fabulous Everest will be joining the gang today to help save the day! (Use this time to race off to the restroom! Merchandise is open to purchase or you can wait until the end of the show, however if you are going on the VIP experience, you will not be back near merchandise tables after the show)
My son was engrossed in every moment, every character, and every scene change. If we talked to him, he got upset we were interrupting HIS show. The kids were given many opportunities to shake their pom poms to celebrate victories and cheer on The Paw Patrol as they race against the evil Mayor Humdinger to cross the finish line for the Adventure Bay Race!
As the sun is about to set and time is running out to win the race, another crisis comes to fruition and the pups needs to make a decision…..can they save the day AND win the race?!!
Overall, the shows was a total enjoyment, the characters really are true characters in huge life form as well as the “humans” nailing their performances to perfection. My son loved it, the crowd loved it, my husband was quite impressed by the way the whole show used props, and I was near teary eyed just seeing my son have the time of his life. I would take him again and again and hope they come out with new shows to tour to keep the magic of Adventure Bay alive!
Last but certainly not least, we must discuss the VIP package that is available for purchase. If you purchase those tickets, as soon as you walk in to the theatre prior to the show, you will want to go to the front and meet a staff member from The Paw Patrol entertainment team, they will confirm your name on the list and give you a VIP lanyard. After the show, you wait in your seats until they come with a sign to follow them.
You will be lead to a private room where you get the opportunity to meet Ryder, Chase, and Skye!
While waiting the children can take fun photos with backdrops, play with Paw Patrol toys, read in a nook, and snack on yummy treats. They also get an exclusive drawstring backpack. Make sure to have your cameras ready as the smiles will explode, I know my heart sure did as my son raced to hug each and every one of them! I would highly suggest adding the meet and great VIP experience if your child(ren) are as obsessed with the show as my son is!
