Teething Bling, For Mommy & Baby!
I was scent product to facilitate this review of the Vanilla Bean Scented Donut Shaped Pendant and Bangle Bracelet From Smart Mom Jewelry AKA Teething Bling. All thoughts and opinions are that of my own and have not been influenced in any way.
My son started teething at 3.5 months. He was not even old enough to really get into toys or things to play with. However, as he cruised into his seventh month of life things were getting serious. He just turned eight months and we are about to have four new residents take up space in his mouth on the upper level. My son also has a new thing for playing with my hair. Which is a bit painful at times. I am familiar with most types of teething jewelry but was interested to test drive the scented items to see how they were different. I chose the vanilla bean set as I would be wearing it and it would be the closest fit to my vanilla/musk perfumes I wear.
As you can see, I enjoy wearing them out and about not just when my son is breastfeeding or chewing on it. I enjoy that the pendant has a breakaway clasp, if he ever gets too rough tugging at it, it will just come off instead of hurting me. The bangle slips on easily over the hand. My son enjoys playing with the necklace in his play yard, I string it up so only the donut teething part is on his side of the fence and no strings are accessible, safety first! He likes to flick it around and then lean in to chew on it. I let him play with the bangle when we go out to eat and are waiting for our food. So they double as toys essentially if used with adult supervision. Being a Mom on the go, knowing they are waterproof and heat resistant means a lot to me. They also wash up easily with soap and water.
As for the scented part? When I first opened them out of the package I felt disappointed, they smelled like plastic. I was surprised how fast that changed though! By the end of the first day you could really get a whiff of the scent and it was pleasing to the nostrils. I can’t be sure how my son feels about it as he can’t talk but I know he loves to chew on both and I even have lent the necklace to my sister, when she babysits him as she said he calms him down when he is fussy. They are sturdy and well made, I tested the quality by grinding my teeth on the pendant. I think they are not only a great item for the baby but make a great Mommy fashion statement. There are a variety of colors available and a handful of scents too. Pretty much something for everyone. The scented products are $19.99 for the necklace and $12.99 for the bangle. At times you can catch some great sales from the company by keeping up with them on Facebook to see when they promote their discounts. They would make an excellent gift for baby showers or even holidays that pop up during the year that you could gift something for the wee one who might be starting to teethe.
