It’s no secret that creating a toddler bedtime routine can be a headache at times. The fact that we typically are fighting the kids to eat, take a bath, and go to bed without a fuss, is like a competitive sport! So I created a dual bath time routine that gets my toddler bedtime routine started with a bath using JOHNSON’S® BEDTIME® baby bath.
I love that I can grab all my toddler bedtime routine mommy must haves at my local Walmart in the baby section. Between the diapers and the bedding you have all your bath needs. While there are plenty of products to select, I have my own personal favorites that we use with my toddler.
- JOHNSON’S® BEDTIME® baby bath
- JOHNSON’S® hand & face wipes
- JOHNSON’S® BEDTIME® baby lotion
The typical argument from my four year old son is over the fact he has to finish his dinner or are we going to wash his hair during his bath. He loves a bubble bath and I love the NATURAL CALM® essences in both the JOHNSON’S® BEDTIME® baby bath and the JOHNSON’S® BEDTIME® baby lotion.
We start with a warm bath using our personal favorite, JOHNSON’S® BEDTIME® baby bath. Follow up by some foot and back rubs for five minutes with the JOHNSON’S® BEDTIME® baby lotion. We allow one more snack after bath time which then we proceed with brushing our teeth. It never fails, morning or night, this kid is left with toothpaste on the sides of his face. I absolutely love the JOHNSON’S® hand & face wipes for this purpose. I even keep a pack in our diaper bag that goes with us on our errands.
Before we settle in for the night, we take time to read a book (or two or three). While many say that most kids do not require a daily bath, I believe that a warm bath and a calming routine helps guide the toddler bedtime routine with a lot less fuss. My son went from being combative and getting out of bed multiple times a night while I was still up, to only getting up if truly needs a sip of water or to use the restroom.
Routine is the key to keeping a toddler on schedule and bringing their high energy levels down a notch. Don’t forget, a rested toddler equals a rested Mommy!
Start your toddler bedtime routine with JOHNSON’S® baby products.
