When it comes to beverages, I am simple. Give me water. Give me a a carbonated water. Give me once in a long moon a non caffeine soda. Sports drinks? Can’t stand them! My husband drinks at least one a day while working outside. He sells me on him “needing” them because he sweats so much and loses electrolytes.
Even when I am a gym rat, I just could never fathom why people like the taste of the stuff offered at every grocery store or mass merchandise store you walk in to. Just because an athlete endorses it and the commercials are awesome, people scoop it up for their kids, even just to pack in a lunch!
I was sent a selection of all six of the BODYARMOR flavors offered and the first things I noticed were the great options for flavor, they have coconut water which I am already a fan of, and a whole bottle has way less sodium and calories than so many other drinks promoted to athletes and kids. Approximately 140 calories per bottle. I was interested in trying all but one flavor, I mean who really is a fan of anything grape besides the actual fruit? I have to admit I wanted to be fair so I went for it all. I settled on trying one bottle a day.
BODYARMOR sports drinks are naturally sweetened so the bitter taste I have always had an issue with on sports drinks, was not a problem from first sip. I can usually taste the sodium within the other brands. I actually wished I had more than one to drink a day when it came down to it. For being a picky person with a picky son, I had him help me test it out and he was a fan of all the flavors but he went crazy for the Strawberry Banana. I loved the Orange Mango. I felt refreshed and that I could keep pushing along weather we were doing a two mile bike ride, a walk around the block, or just dancing around the living room.
BODYARMOR sports drinks run about $2.00 staying at a competitive price. The flavor alone beats out competition. The bottles are all 16oz and you can order a case of 12 online, if you are unable to locate at a local store.
If you are a parent on the go or have your children in sports and activities, I can recommend this product. I am not out comparing all the statistics of what is in the competitor brands but based on value, and most importantly, TASTE, BODYARMOR is a hands down winner in my book! Even the pickiest of children who need to reboot their electrolytes and push through without all the sodium and garbage, will become a fan. Six great flavors, something for everyone!
