I can honestly say I did not think one of my first blogging posts would be about baby socks and mittens. I have a whole list of things I am ready to write about. I just hit 37 weeks (AKA Full term by medical standards) for our little boy and I am trying to get into a nesting mode but keep falling asleep in the middle of the day. I find my energy perks up a few hours after dinner, normally after 9pm lol.

I confess I was washing loads of laundry a little over a month ago and sure as anything I lost my first newborn sock. I think a mitten ran away with it! After that I bought a 3pk of mesh laundry bags at the Dollar Tree. They did the job. I opened up the bag this morning, after fighting with the zipper that got tangled in the cheap mesh (what can you expect for under .50 a bag) and all my socks and mittens were accounted for! I started folding the socks like I would do for my own and quickly realized 1) It made them look ugly because the insides were more of a knitted fashion 2) You could not tell what print they were, because come on who really has all solid white socks for a baby? 3) They were odd ball shapes. Here came my idea..I’m sure it is not a fresh idea to most but it was a sanity saving moment for myself!
Roll a sock (or mitten) and put in the other one! You can see the print and know both are there! Yep…total clarity on my part lol. I can now throw them in their rightful little baskets in his room and clearly know if they are Santa printed, baseball, solid, etc. I know some people are probably laughing at me thinking “Yep, there is that first time mom.” I am anal retentive and I will never claim otherwise. So here I am, happy as a clam with knowing I will 1) not lose his socks or mittens again and 2) Can quickly pick what I need as I go to dress him!
Happy 37 weeks revelation to ME!!!!
