Tampa Fleming’s Operating Partner, Jorge Diaz, is a former big brother. Supporting this cause is close to his heart. Every Monday from May 18th through June 29th you can order from the special Prime Mondays menu and let your associate know you are there to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay.
My husband and I had not been out on a real date night in well over a year. Our visit to check out the Prime Mondays menu was an experience we will not soon forget. I was easily in a food coma that I would not mind being in more often!
When you first sit down you are offered a Parmesan Sour Dough Bread with a Oven Roasted Sun Dried Tomato butter and a Gorgonzola with Chardonnay Wine spread. The Gorgonzola spread is a sweet flavor that really is unique. Both were so complimentary and tasty that we had to have a second serving. I just could not help myself.
Not included in the Prime Mondays menu was the Sweet Chili Calamari. I wanted to taste some seafood so I could see presentation and of course taste. It was deep fried and then sauteed. The taste was so delicious, normally I have a dip for my calamari but the dish was perfect as served. It was more of a glaze with the peppers giving an amazing accent to every bite. I may not have shared much with my husband. It is of course served with enough to share as a full appetizer.
With each Prime Mondays menu you are able to order a starter, entree, with two sides, and dessert from the provided menu. For our starters, my Husband ordered the French Onion Soup, which had an outstanding flavor with a creamy texture from the cheese. I had the Fleming’s Salad. It was crisp, fresh, served with a chilled fork, and left a burst of sunshine on my taste buds.
For the main course entree we each ordered the Craftsman Prime Ribeye, which we had a choice to have it broiled or iron crusted. We opted for Iron Crusted thanks to our associate Brad suggesting it. We ordered them medium well which gave a perfect finish to the pink. The Iron Crusted adorned us with a highlighted flavor that really left you with the desire to want more.
Our sides we both chose to try the Truffle Parsley Mashed Potatoes which was an excellent choice. Fluffy and flavorful with that creamy consistency you hope for. My Husband then had the Spicy Thai Green Beans which he enjoyed. I got the Creamed Spinach. I rarely order vegetables when out to eat because most places prepare what I consider to be an “Epic Fail”. Fleming’s has changed my mind about that. The Creamed Spinach was so mouth watering with a bit of cheese on top. If I could conjure up the recipe, I would be eating something similar at home nightly! Yes, it was that good!
Our finishing touch to the Prime Mondays meal was our dessert. Dessert is served with a homemade Chantilly Whipped Cream. I got the homemade Blueberry Cheesecake and my Husband ordered the homemade Walnut Turtle Pie. Each aspect of the dessert is done in house, homemade. From the chocolate shavings on the Walnut Turtle Pie, Caramel Sauce, and the Blueberry Sauce and Graham crust on the cheesecake. Every bite was as sinful as the first and really pulled the whole meal together.
A few things I must add that made our trip to the Tampa Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse was the staff. Our associates, John and Brad were on top of things. The Coca-Cola, yes this may seem strange but it is a huge compliment from me, I am not a huge fan of soda products. I ordered Coke. The taste was so fresh and clean it was like I had never tasted this product before in my life. The combination of carbonation and syrup was beyond perfect. I could almost see myself being a Coke fan, if every glass was as delicious and refreshing as what Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse served us.
Additionally, throughout the six weeks, a series of beautiful Thomas Arvid paintings that adorn the restaurant currently will be available for silent auction. Guests dining in the restaurant will be welcome to take part in the silent auction, with 100 percent of those proceeds going to BBBS Tampa.
The winners of the auction will be presented at a cocktail reception at the conclusion of the six weeks, where a check with all proceeds will be presented to BBBS Tampa.
