I wanted to share some easy treats that really quench that ice cream craving and hit the spot with a bit of rum. Included recipes are my New York Cheesecake Rum Sundae, Amaretto Praline Root Beer Float, and Loco 4 Coco Rum Chata Banana Milkshake.
To create the New York Cheesecake Sundae, you get to be as creative as you want. We chose Kahlua rum. This is a “design yourself style” recipe so truly, I just want to put the idea in your mind. You can put as many toppings on top as you desire!
1 Serving San Bernardo New York Cheesecake Ice Cream
1 tbsp Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup
1oz Kahlua Rum
2tbsp Whipped topping
2 mini chocolate covered cookies.
The rum slides to the bottom and around the ice cream making each bite a spoonful of delight.
Who doesn’t love a Root Beer Float? This next one may be the quickest recipe of all.
The guests were torn on the rum flavor they wanted but, in the end, the 99 Root Beer won the fan favorite! Like I mentioned before… just finding the perfect complement of ice cream flavor and rum is key.
1 serving San Bernardo Amaretto Praline Ice Cream
8oz Root Beer
1oz 99 Root Beer Rum
Top with whipped topping if desired.
Now, if you are like me… frozen cocktails always taste like dessert. How can we not want to mix ice cream with rum and make it into something that is similar to a milkshake? I wish the local drive thru would serve up this version of a milkshake! Introducing my Loco 4 Coco Rum Chata Banana Milkshake!
Whip out the blender and get ready for a treat that you won’t even realize has rum in it! Bursting with coconut and banana, this boozy ice cream cocktail is a year-round favorite! I love Rum Chata and I tend to think it loves me back. When this recipe was complete, I knew it was a match made in heaven for the San Bernardo Loco 4 Coco and rum to be perfectly matched.
1 serving San Bernardo Loco 4 Coco Ice Cream
1 medium ripe banana
2 tbsp chocolate free syrup
1oz Rum Chata Rum
1 tbsp coconut flakes
2 tbsp whipped topping.
Blend first four ingredients in blender until smooth. Top with last two ingredients. Garnish with banana slice if desired. Serve immediately.
