How to Win at Breakfast with a Picky Eater

Disclosure of Material Connection: This is a "sponsored post." The company who sponsored it compensated me via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value to write it. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255: "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising."

This is a sponsored post on behalf of General Mills.  All thoughts and opinions are that of my own.

Breakfast just got a whole lot easier thanks to the new and exciting Chocolate Toast Crunch. There are an array of NEW General Mills cereals being stocked in the very much needed Family Size at your local Walmart stores.

I have a picky eater. That is OK. I know sometimes we feel we need to push more vegetables and fruits on their plates along with tears and tantrums. I just want my child to be excited to eat something before leaving for school on an early cold morning. I know he may not like what the school is serving for breakfast, with a real fear of peaches after getting ill once.

My motto is, waking up early for school will not be nearly as miserable, if my son is excited to get to the kitchen for breakfast. We found this to be true even on the weekends with the Chocolate Toast Crunch. I’m fine with my son saying he hates school every single morning. I am not fine with him refusing to eat breakfast and starving until I pick him up.

We can’t win all the battles. As parents we need to sometimes cater to the picky eaters and make sure they are happy, full, and can focus. If your child pushes the bread or fruits around the plate, try them at home later. Not when they need to go the next few hours with a need to focus.

It is all about balance. This morning, kiddo had a heaping bowl of Chocolate Toast Crunch. For lunch he had a turkey sandwich, banana, and crackers. I am limited on time in the mornings. Taking complaints from the village of animals, trying to get the kid dressed and fed, with him begging to make sure he has time to watch a few minutes of cartoons, I need simplicity.

With a flavor your kids will love (my husband also is obsessed with it), an amazing price point for a huge Family Size box at Walmart, and knowing it won’t sit in the pantry getting stale because the kid is excited to eat it in the mornings…shoot, he wants it for his dessert sometimes instead of ice cream!

We are all doing the best we can and I think we need to cut ourselves a little slack when it comes to breakfast. We all want to be SuperMom with organic foods and perfect lives. Let’s be honest, we are living in a chaotic world and breakfast is the last thing we should be struggling to try to get our kids to eat!

So heres to all the Moms who have picky eaters. Your mornings are now saved! Sleep in for an extra 5-10 minutes because you don’t need to cook something. I should also tell you, it is probably the easiest and best snacking cereal as a dry snack as well. My son asks for me to put some in a baggy for him to eat on the car ride after his swim classes. Not just for breakfast folks!

Find a store near you that is carrying the NEW General Mills Chocolate Toast Crunch.

Looks like he is enjoying his breakfast. Chocolate for breakfast isn’t my choice but kids would like it

That sounds really good. We always have cinnamon toast crunch in the house, so I will have to pick up a box of this.

My kiddo is a huge chocolate lover so this is definitely a win for us. I have not seen this one of the stores yet but when I do I would definitely be buying it for him.

We love this cereal! My kids have always enjoyed this brand. It’s usually what they have in the mornings to help keep them going. Heck, I still eat it too!

My son hasn’t tried this Cereal but I am wondering if he would enjoy it since it’s Chocolate. Although I wouldn’t eat it with him with me trying to lose weight I am working hard to watch what I eat and when.

I have a picky eater here too. I will have to ask him first if he would like to try that cereal. He does love chocolate, but not sure about the cinnamon.

My kids always loved cinnamon crunch toast and I’m sure they would have enjoyed this too. Cereal is a great snack, I still sometimes have a handful when I can’t decide what to snack on.
