When it comes to functionality you always want the most bang for your buck! Patch Products had done it again with their Mirari toy line that features infant and toddler toys that are meant to engage your child with their gross motor skills and sensory. Davin was sent this darling two in one toy, a xylophone toy train called the Zig-Zag Xylo Train!. He put it to the test to review and it held up through play time and attitude tossing around time!
Recommended for ages 18 months and up, Davin started playing with it at just under 12 months old. He is very much in to toys that make music as he is a huge fan of his other Mirari toy, the Pop! Pop! Piano that he still plays with daily. The Zig-Zag Xylo Train lets you use the instrument mallet to pull it around or of course you can use as a xylophone. It folds up nice and tight for storage or to place on a shelf.
The Zig-Zag Xylo Train is 17″ long total and has six xylophone keys on it. The only suggestion I would possibly have for it, is when you fold it up, if it would snap or click together. This would make it easier for the child to learn to close it and put away. It does not take much space for storage due to he ability to fold up but a hook or latch would be great!
This is a perfect toy for a child to grow in to. As I said, Davin started playing with it six months earlier than the recommended age and I know he will grow in to it even more. He loves anything with music and has currently gotten in to pushing cars, trains, and any other automotive that has wheels so it is a win win all around. Start a band and when the band gets tired, pull the train!
